AJF aims to advocate for contemporary art jewelry through education, appreciation and support for the field. One of AJF’s major contributions is through the commissioning of new critical writing about the issues and practice of contemporary art jewelry, which is published on the AJF website, in publications managed by AJF and presented through partnerships with other organizations.

AJF does not have a writer’s grant program which accepts applications, but new thinking about contemporary art jewelry is currently commissioned through the following programs: talks and panels at events, such as the annual SNAG conference and SOFA fairs; AJF publications such as the upcoming book being published by Lark Books in 2013; and articles, reviews and interviews published on the AJF website.  Recipients
