Art Jewelry Forum Emerging Artist Award 2007

The Art Jewelry Forum (AJF), founded in 1997, is an organization of collectors who advocate for the field of contemporary art jewelry. The AJF wishes to acknowledge promise, innovation and individuality in the work of emerging artists. The award consists of a cash award of $2,000 and free registration for the full Visiting Artist Program at next February’s Buyers Market of American Craft, February 15-18, 2008, courtesy of the Rosen Group. The Award will be announced at SOFA Chicago, November 2-4, 2007.

Applications are open to:

Makers of wearable art jewelry who have not had a feature artist exhibition in a commercial gallery.

Those who have finished their academic or professional training and have been out of school for at least one year.

Application Requirements: Four (4) sets of the following:

A photo CD with 8 jpeg digital images (300dpi), 4″ x 6″, no larger than 10mb and viewable on both PCs and MACs, with one image showing a piece being worn. For each image, please provide: name, title of the piece, dimensions, year produced, and materials.

A one-page current resume,

A 200-word maximum artist statement.

This year’s jurors are:

Nancy Worden – Professional jewelry artist, collector, and teacher

Harriete Estel Berman – Professional jewelry artist and teacher

Jean Mandeberg – Professional jewelry artist and metals professor at The Evergreen State College (TESC).
